Four Fun Things You Can Do Out Of Magazine Subscriptions

Subscriptions offer you a number of positive points: assurance you'll not miss any issue within a year, considerable savings, mastery of your time and a whole lot more. However, when the issues come piling up, what will you do? This page is devoted to suggesting some ways wherein you can make the most of the regular clutter that your magazine subscriptions are causing. Check out the list to find out what they are.

1. Build a collection.

When you love storing keepsakes, build a library collection out of your magazine subscriptions. This won't be hard to do if you do some careful planning. Allocate a space in your home to store your collection. A bookshelf or two near a coffee table and comfortable chairs are an ideal choice. Arrange the issues in chronological order for easy retrieval. Better yet, keep a soft record of your subscriptions and collections in your computer.

Do not be bothered by the empty spaces in your selected bookshelf. For the meantime, lightly adorn it with few accessories such as a clock, a tea set and some photo frames. Once magazines begin piling up, you'll appreciate the purpose that these empty bookshelves really serve. Make sure you can transfer the temporary accessories elsewhere, should the need arise.

2. Donate.

When you lack the space to build a library in your home or the patience to organize all your things, by all means get rid of the clutter you're making by donating your unused magazines to schools or charitable institutions. Making donations is always a win-win situation: You're able to clear some space for your home and many people are benefitting from your magazine donation. You could even make a name for yourself in philanthropic circles.

3. Earn and share.

When you love money, use your magazines as a vehicle to gain you some. For your magazines to be of substantial worth, you may have to wait for years and resell them as collectors' edition for a fair price. If you want to earn immediately, you can have them rented out for a modest fee as most book clubs are currently practicing; expect however the mint condition of the goodies to depreciate from anticipated wear and tear.

In terms of nonmonetary gains, share your magazines to keep old friends connected and to make new ones. You can even found your own book club if you want. The content of your complete magazine collection should be more than enough to keep fresh ideas and conversations flowing.

4. Recycle.

Use your magazines as one of the raw materials for other great projects such as vision boards, slam books, posters and personalized wrapping paper. If you share a home with school kids, help them create resourceful projects using selected cutouts from your magazines. When you're a pet owner, use the pages to line your dog cage or bird cage instead of buying brand-new ones. This activity won't cost extra pennies or dollars. What's even better is that you're being kind and grateful to the environment.
