Things, like the price of a barrel of oil, is important to all of us. Oil, as we all know, is what powers the economies of the world. It's what allows our automobiles, planes, and ships to move. This enables goods to be transported to its destinations. It's what happens every single day. Goods are transported from one country to another without us even knowing it.

If the price of oil increases, sooner or later prices of commodities like rice and electricity will definitely follow suit. Such is the importance of oil. And if we fail to realize that, that would mean that we would fail to prepare for the impending increases of oil and other goods. We can no longer live a carefree life and just act like nothing's wrong with our lives. But of course, other events taking place in the world like the crisis brewing in the Middle East or even our very own economic slowdown should be relevant enough for us to read about. The decisions we all make may very well depend on the conditions of the world around us.

If you're an American, you should know what your country is doing around the world. Sensitive subjects like the War on Terror, and the troop deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan are very sensitive subjects to the American public. In fact, this is also a very sensitive subject overseas to our brothers in Europe.

Being an American citizen, you should be aware of the actions of our government. We should have a say in things, making sure that our government is acting out in the best interest of the American people. It is only when we're aware of what's happening can we have a good understanding of why things are the way they are around the world. We just can't keep ourselves busy with computer games and tv shows all our lives. It's time that we become aware.
